Maybe you’re here because you’re discovering these strategies don’t work. You feel burnt out, your sense of self-worth is at a low or your binge eating is out of control.

Unsure whether you binge eat, if you’re a Highly Sensitive Person or feeling some resistance to the “label”?

I totally get it - I had been secretly binge eating for years without knowing what or why I was doing. It was also late in my recovery journey that I learnt about being a HSP, and even later that I embraced the trait. So, let’s look at some thoughts that might be coming up for you too…

  • “I don’t know if I’m a HSP - is this guide for me?”

The first part of the guide will help you to determine whether you’re a HSP. If you find that you’re not, that’s okay - you’ve got some clarity and can leave the guide there. If you find that you are, the rest of the guide will be very supportive in your binge eating recovery.

  • “I have a feeling I binge eat but I’m not sure”

Where neither this guide nor myself can give you a diagnosis for binge eating, part two of the guide will help you to understand what binge eating is and whether it describes your relationship with food. If you do resonate with this part, you’ll likely find the rest of the guide deeply supportive.

  • “I’m feeling resistant to being ‘highly sensitive’ because of the negative connotations”

Unfortunately our culture doesn’t yet quite “get” what high sensitivity is (also called “sensory processing sensitivity”) and perhaps you’ve been called things like “too sensitive” as though it were a bad thing. However, through this guide you’ll gain a different perspective of what it actually means to be a HSP and how this trait can deeply support both yourself and those around you.

  • “I’m worried I’ll read this and feel like I’ll have to ‘fit a HSP mold’”

Trying to fit into certain body size molds has likely played a role in your binge eating and so the last thing I want is for you to try and fit into another. In fact, one of the six principles is all about being your authentic self and how the HSP trait isn’t a rigid template, but just one aspect of who you are.

What others are saying

I've never read anything so extensive about being a HSP in such a clear and approachable way - it resonated strongly with me. It's a beautiful guide, clearly written by someone who has lived through binge eating as a HSP and thrived. That makes the advice all the more valuable and I'm sure it will help lots of people, including me!”

“This guide means a lot to me and I’ll be going back and re-reading it plenty of times. There are many parts that deeply resonate and I found the principle about innate worth really enlightening - I’ve been thinking about it a lot.”

A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Lucy Newport and I help highly sensitive women free themselves from binge eating.

I do this work because I’m a big feeler like you. And for too long I lived with a low sense of self-worth, soothing uncomfortable emotions with cookies and crisps, whilst trying to lose weight with diets, over-exercising and “being good”.

This just led me to countless binges and ultimately I was a binge eater for 14 years. Now that I’m out the other side I’m here to help you do the same.

As a coach, I help you create peaceful relationships with food by working with your sensitivity rather than against it. My approach combines gentle nervous system regulation with practical tools that honour your sensitive nature, helping you find freedom without overwhelm.

I’m hoping that The Highly Sensitive Woman’s Guide to a Binge Free Life will feel like a sanctuary for your soul, pointing you back to your true self and the joy of a binge free life.
